Update! Charlie's CD, Old Memories
and Me, is now available. For samples, a complete listing
of songs, and ordering information, please visit the CD
Page.
This website was designed to help aspiring songwriters.
I have thirty-eight years of experience as a professional
songwriter. This experience helps me to better critique
my own work. I would now like to offer my experience to
others in the critiquing of their songs. For a complete
description of the services that I offer, please visit my
services page.
You can also use this site to check my credentials
and some of the hits I have written. I will always be
honest and to the point. If I think I see potential in
a writer, I will say so. The same is true in opposite
cases - if I do not see a future in songwriting for a
client, I will also say so. I will point out the strengths
I see in your writing as well as the weak parts.
I give no guarantees that I can help make you a professional
songwriter. I
can only give you my own professional opinion. If you
do have potential, I
will advise you on what to do next.
If you or someone you know has outstanding
talent, we want to hear from you! Male or female,
solo or group... preferably ages 12 to 35 (what the music
industry is leaning to these days).
Thank you for visiting my website, and don't forget to
sign the guestbook!
I
am also currently writing my autobiography, scheduled
to be finished in June of this year. It will contain such
things as me hiring Charlie Daniels to play guitar for
me while he was still unknown, my relationship with Alan
Jackson (in the sense I was the 1st songwriter to write
with him and pay him to sing a demo) - together we have
written 11 songs together. The times I spent with Roy
Rogers and also introduced him to Johnny Cash, my 30 odd
years on Music Row have so many stories on a personal
basis to tell. There will be no "smut," but
a lot of truthful things that need to be told because
the fans deserve to know what some of their heroes are
really like. Some of this will reveal sensitive sides
of their personalities, humorous sides, and in some cases,
conceit and arrogance.
It shall be a doosy!
